  1. Continuity editing is the main style of film editing and video editing in the post-production development of filmmaking of T.V programs and narrative films. The purpose of continuity editing is to smooth over the inherent discontinuity of the editing process and to establish a chronological consistency between shots.

    1. This requires a continuity system. In this system, people and objects must remain in normal places that make sense over the time period of the filming. For this to be the case, objects cannot “jump” from one place to another. If continuity editing weren't used, people and objects would be free to move to unusual places within the clip, meaning the final video wouldn't make any sense.

How use the camera and tripod




  • Ensure that the legs of the tripod are spread equally for balance on a flat surface.
  • Extend the adjustable legs to the desired height, each leg at the same height, and then clamp them into place to secure them.
  • Attach the base of the camera to the head of the tripod. Screw the post, which is located in the center of the head, into the hole at the base of the camera. Most cameras come already equipped with a small indention on the bottom. Usually, the tripod will have a movable base however if this is not the case, the camera can be turned repeatedly until it is secured onto the base of the tripod.
  • Adjust the tripod head to the desired angle using the pivoting handle attached to the mount. Make sure this mechanism is balanced properly to prevent the camera, as well as the entire tripod, from falling forward.
  • Once the tripod has been set up and the camera has been positioned, the LED screen can be flipped out to start recording. Ensure the shutter has been opened.
  • Practice some zooming, panning and different angles with the camera by using the handle and controls.

    Dialogue for short narrative

    Scene 1: Bullies talking about the incident of the girl and planning terrorize her

    Emily and tom walking towards lesson talking about incident.
    Then sit down in lesson.
    Tom: Did you hear what she did?  She had sex with him in Emma’s parents room, everyone walked in hahaha
    Emily: yeah oh my god, I heard what a slag haha apparently she basically took advantage of him because he doesn’t even think she’s fit and he’d never go near her if he wasn’t out of his face.

    Tom: Really I heard that she was sober and had planned to get on him the whole night, she has basically been obsessing over him since year 10. Who would of thought she would of done it then and there I thought she was fairy god mother not a raving slut.


    Emily: I can’t wait to see her next lesson I’m gonna rip her to shreds haha does she seriously think that she’s gonna get away with this, honestly what slut goes to a party drinks 2 wkds and forces herself on some boy that’s out his face. Oh my god She coming in… Quick get close as possible to her no ones in here.



    Tom: Oi, I heard about you, 

    Emily: How scabby are you?! I wouldn't show my face at this school again if i was you!

    Laura: Please just leave me alone, I didnt want anything to happen! but it just did. So get over it!

    Emily: You forced yourself onto him you slag

    Tom: Haha  SLAAAAAG!


    Laura: Im not a slag. Sex is a perfectly normal thing to do!

    3 characters all teenagers in secondary school
    Characters:
    1)Emily-A bully that looks intimidating
                 Costume: casual/ gothic wear, wears different to everyone else
    2)Tom- One of the bullies that is scary and intimidating
                 Costume: Casual/ baggy clothes dark colors  
    3)Laura- vulnerable victim (gets picked on for incident she took part in)
                   Costume: Wearing clothes that are old fashioned and covered up as she feels uncomfortable

    Scene about a girl getting bullied in school.
    In the clip there are 3 students, two of the students are bullying and picking on the vulnerable girl.
    The first scene shows both the bullies making comments about the girl and planning how they are going to terrorize the girl without anyone else in school seeing. This means the bullying scene takes place in one room with no one in (as witness). The girl innocently comes into the scene where the bullies are talking to print of her homework, this is when the bullies attack (verbally) making fun of her. 

    This scene shows the girl getting picked on (emphasis emotions on girls face using camera) for example her crying or getting emotional. Also in this scene show the bullies getting a ‘thrill’ from making the girl upset. The bullies refer to the girl as being a ‘slag’ and bring up an incident the girl was involved in that gave her the bad reputation. The bullies make jokes about the situation like pretending to reenact the girl (pretend to kiss back of hand/ behaving immature about serious matter). 

    The girl then runs out of room (tracking her movement/ emphasizes rushing out of from) in this scene she has locked herself in the toilet, shows her being angry at herself and being isolated from the others.
